Eligibility of Availing LTC for Central Govt Employees

Eligibility: Any servant who completed minimum one year continuous service on the date of joining performed by Him and his family is eligible for LTC. For an example an official joined on 21.12.2010 is eligible for two year block 2010-11, but if he joined on or after 01.01.2011, he will not be eligible for the above mentioned block. Although, any servant who spouses are serving in Indian Railways, National Airlines, are not eligible for LTC.
In case of both the husband and wife working in Central Government, they can declare their separate hometown separately or independently. Both of them can claim their respective families i.e. the husband can claim for his parents, minor brothers or sisters and the wife can claim for her parents, minor brother or sisters. Anyone of the husband or wife can claim the concession for their children in a particular block. The husband or the wife who avails LTS as a member of the family of the spouse, he or she can not claim for self.

Note: Family of the Govt. servant means –
  • .       His/her wife/husband and two unmarried children or step children who are dependent on the servant. Although, they may or may not reside with the Govt. servant.
  • .       His/her married daughter divorced/abandoned or separated or widowed daughters who are residing and dependent with the servant.
  •     His / Her parents or step parents who are dependent on the servant.they may or mat not reside with the servant.
  •     His / Her unmarried minor brothers dependent on him/her whose parents are either dead or dependent on the servant.They may or may not reside with the govt servant.
