Written By Admin on Thursday, 20 February 2014 | 07:18

After a huge pressure from different unions of central govt employees, Central Government is ready to merge 50% DA with basic pay to all central govt employees. Before Loksabha election Central Govt. gave a proposal of merger Dearness Allowances with the basic pay to the newly constituted seventh pay commission. This steps of the Government may help 50 lakh Employees and near about 30 lakh pensioners,it is really a great relief for them.

Last time Central Government announced 10% DA effected from 1st July, 2013.After that,It is assumed that hike in DA will not be less than 10% which will be effected from 1st January, 2014.With this total DA will be 100% of the basic pay.Now 50% DA was merged with basic pay according to 5th CPC, but 6th Central Pay Commission didn't recommended about the merger of Dearness Allowances with the basic pay.Now the proposal about the merger of  DA if accepted by 7th CPC, then there will be a huge increase in salary to the central govt employees as a major increase of basic pay and HRA. Also a minor increase will be seen in other allowances.
